Barbara Aromo

Barbara J. Aromo is an advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and South Sudan, with over 8 years in human rights and national security law. As a LAWA Fellow, she is a recent graduate of the Georgetown National Security Law Program. She has extensive experience in conflict zones, focusing on the rights of women, children, and marginalised groups. Barbara excels in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and policy development, emphasising access to justice and gender sensitivity. Her work involves coordinating with governmental and international bodies to implement victim-centred justice initiatives. This unique blend of legal expertise and hands-on experience equips her to address complex human rights challenges within national security frameworks.
