Wayne Chung

Chief Technology Officer, Virtru

Wayne Chung is an experienced technology executive with extensive private and public sector experiences. Dr. Chung has previously been CTO at a growth stage AI startup and a Cybersecurity unicorn. In the public sector Wayne served as the CTO for the FBI, leading cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud migration efforts and created the Scientific Working Group for AI and Public Safety. Wayne also has nearly 13 years with the National Security Agency’s think tank where he has served across the cybersecurity, computer network operations, and counter-terrorism mission space. His last roles were as Innovator-in-Residence in the Cybersecurity and Computer Network Operation Incubation cells.

Wayne has a Ph.D and MS from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College as well as dual undergraduate degrees from Dartmouth and Bowdoin College. Wayne also is a Technical Amicus to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and is a Senior Fellow at the Center for National Security at Georgetown Law.
